Glide Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy

Effective Date: August 7, 2026 Last Updated: August 7, 2026

This is a separate policy that applies specifically to consumer health data. It exists in addition to our general Privacy Policy and is required by the Washington My Health My Data Act, the Nevada Consumer Health Data Privacy Law, and comparable laws.

If you are a resident of Washington or Nevada, or if your consumer health data is collected while you are in Washington or Nevada, this policy describes your rights and how to exercise them.

Glide Performance, LLC (“Glide,” “we,” “us”) operates the Glide fitness application. Glide is not a HIPAA-covered entity, and the data described here is not protected health information under HIPAA. It is protected under the consumer health data laws described in this policy.

1. What Counts as Consumer Health Data

“Consumer health data” means personal information linked or reasonably linkable to you that identifies your past, present, or future physical or mental health status.

Because Glide is a fitness and wellness application, most of what you enter is consumer health data. This includes:

Body and Physical Measurements

  • Height, weight, and weight history over time
  • Body measurements (chest, waist, hips, arms, legs, and others you record)
  • Estimated body fat percentage
  • Age and sex or gender, where used in health calculations
  • Progress photos and body images you upload

Nutrition and Diet

  • Food and meal logs, including specific items, quantities, and timing
  • Calorie intake and calorie targets
  • Macronutrient intake and targets (protein, carbohydrates, fat)
  • Micronutrient data
  • Water and hydration logs and targets
  • Dietary preferences, restrictions, and allergies you disclose

Exercise and Physical Activity

  • Workout logs: exercises performed, sets, repetitions, loads, duration
  • Cardiovascular activity: distance, pace, duration, calories burned
  • Training history, frequency, and volume over time
  • Activity level and perceived exertion
  • Performance metrics and progress trends

Apple Health Data (with your permission)

  • Step count and active energy burned
  • Heart rate, resting heart rate, and heart rate variability
  • Sleep analysis
  • Workouts recorded by other apps or devices

Your daily steps and sleep duration are copied to our servers and retained indefinitely. Your steps, active energy, and sleep are sent to OpenAI when you use the AI coach. Glide never writes to Apple Health.

Location and Route Data

  • Precise GPS coordinates recorded continuously during a tracked run or activity, including while the app is in the background and your screen is locked
  • Full route traces, retained indefinitely, showing exactly where you exercised
  • Distance, pace, speed, and cadence

Route data is health-related because it records your physical activity and reveals where and when you exercise.

Health Status and Conditions

  • Injuries, conditions, limitations, or medical circumstances you choose to disclose
  • Medications or supplements you choose to record
  • Sleep, recovery, energy, and mood entries
  • Notes, reflections, and journal entries relating to your health or wellbeing
  • Health and wellness goals

Inferences and Derived Data

  • Estimated basal metabolic rate and total daily energy expenditure
  • Calculated calorie and macronutrient targets
  • Progress assessments and trend analysis
  • AI-generated recommendations and insights about your fitness and nutrition

Health-Adjacent Data

  • Bodily functions, vital signs, or symptoms you record
  • Precise location, only to the limited extent described in Section 3 of our Privacy Policy — we do not use location to infer anything about your health

We do not collect: genetic data, biometric identifiers (see Section 9), reproductive or sexual health data, gender-affirming care information, or data about your use of any healthcare service — unless you voluntarily type such information into a note, journal entry, or AI prompt, in which case it is stored as the text you entered.

2. Where This Data Comes From

Directly from you. Most of Section 1 is information you enter into the app.

Automatically from your device, with your permission. Two categories are collected without you entering them:

  • Apple Health. Once you grant access, Glide reads your Apple Health data automatically when you open the app, without a separate action each time.
  • Location and motion sensors. While you are recording an activity, Glide records your GPS position and motion data continuously, including in the background.

Both require permissions you may decline or revoke at any time.

From your device, only where you grant permission and only for the specific feature requiring it.

Derived by Glide, where our calculations produce estimates and targets from data you provided.

From other users, only where another user shares content with you or where you are both members of a club — and only the health data that user chose to make visible.

We do not purchase, license, or acquire consumer health data from data brokers, advertising networks, or any third party.

3. Why We Collect It

We collect consumer health data only to provide the features you ask for:

  • To record and display your logs, history, and progress
  • To calculate goals, targets, estimates, and metrics
  • To generate insights, summaries, and trend analysis
  • To generate AI recommendations when you request them (see Section 5)
  • To display achievements, streaks, and milestones
  • To power social features you choose to use — posts, clubs, and leaderboards — showing only what you chose to share
  • To sync your data across sessions and devices
  • To provide customer support when you contact us
  • To diagnose and fix defects affecting your data
  • To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
  • To comply with legal obligations

We do not use consumer health data for advertising, marketing, or profiling. We do not use it to make decisions about you that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

4. Who We Share It With

We share consumer health data only with the service providers below, each of which is contractually restricted to processing it solely to provide services to Glide.

Third Party What It Receives Purpose Contact
Supabase, Inc. All health data you enter, stored in our database and file storage Database hosting, authentication, file storage, backend infrastructure supabase.com — privacy@supabase.io
OpenAI, L.L.C. Fitness profile, goals, restrictions, injuries, recent workout and nutrition logs, and anything you type into an AI feature AI generation for workout, nutrition, and insight features (see Section 5) openai.com — privacy@openai.com
Amazon Web Services, Inc. Data at rest and in transit underlying Supabase infrastructure Cloud hosting aws.amazon.com
PostHog, Inc. Product usage and interaction data. Session recordings are disabled on screens displaying health data. Limited workout metadata (duration, exercise count) is included in analytics events. Product analytics and diagnostics posthog.com — privacy@posthog.com
Apple Inc. Push notification delivery; purchase and subscription records. Apple does not receive your health logs. App distribution, in-app purchase, notifications apple.com
RevenueCat, Inc. Subscription status and purchase events only. No health data. Subscription management revenuecat.com

We also share consumer health data with other Glide users — but only what you choose to share. Posts you publish, activities you share, and leaderboard placements are visible per your privacy settings. Progress photos are private unless you deliberately attach them to a post or message.

We do not share consumer health data with: advertising networks, data brokers, marketing partners, analytics companies beyond those listed, insurers, employers, or law enforcement (except in response to valid legal process as described in our Privacy Policy).

Affiliates: Glide Performance, LLC has no corporate affiliates or subsidiaries. If that changes, this policy will be updated.

5. Artificial Intelligence

When you use Glide’s AI features, your consumer health data is transmitted to OpenAI, L.L.C. for processing. This is the most significant sharing of health data that occurs in Glide, and we want it stated plainly.

  • What is sent: your fitness profile (age, sex, current and target weight, activity level, experience level), goals, diet type and restrictions, daily calorie and macronutrient targets, recent workout and nutrition summaries, your recent weigh-ins, your logging streak, your Glide Score, your subscription tier, follower count, club names, your Apple Health steps, active energy, and sleep for the current day, photographs of food you submit, and whatever you type into the AI feature.
  • What is NOT sent: your name, email address, password, payment information, GPS coordinates or route data, progress photos, or direct messages.
  • Why: it is not technically possible to generate a personalized AI recommendation without transmitting the data the recommendation is based on.
  • Model training: we do not permit OpenAI to use your data to train or improve its models. Our integration is configured to exclude your data from provider training.
  • Retention: OpenAI may retain API request data for a limited period for abuse monitoring and legal compliance, then deletes it. Glide separately stores your AI conversations and saved outputs as part of your account.
  • This is optional. You can use every other Glide feature — logging, tracking, progress, social, clubs, messaging — without ever using an AI feature. If you do not want your health data processed by OpenAI, do not use AI features.

6. We Do Not Sell Your Consumer Health Data

Glide does not sell consumer health data, and has never sold consumer health data.

Under the My Health My Data Act, “sell” means exchanging consumer health data for monetary or other valuable consideration.

We will not sell your consumer health data unless we first obtain your separate, valid written authorization, meeting every requirement of RCW 19.373.030 — including a specific description of the data, the identity of the purchaser, the purpose, your right to revoke, and an expiration date not more than one year out. That authorization would be separate from this policy and from our Terms of Service, and you would have to sign it affirmatively. We have no plans to do this.

7. How Long We Keep It

Data Retention
Health logs, body metrics, nutrition, workouts For the life of your account; deleted within 30 days of account deletion
Progress photos and uploaded images For the life of your account; deleted from active systems within 30 days of account deletion
AI conversations and saved outputs For the life of your account, or until you request deletion
Encrypted backups Overwritten within 90 days of deletion from active systems
Data retained for legal obligations or legal hold As long as legally required

8. Your Rights

If you are a Washington or Nevada resident, or your consumer health data was collected in those states, you have the right to:

1. Confirm whether we collect, share, or sell your consumer health data, and to access that data.

2. Obtain a list of all third parties and affiliates with whom we have shared your consumer health data, including an active email address or other contact method for each. Section 4 provides this list; contact us for a response specific to your account.

3. Withdraw consent to our collection and sharing of your consumer health data.

4. Delete your consumer health data.

5. Appeal a denial of any of the above.

6. Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We will not deny you service, charge different prices, or provide a lower quality of service.

How to Exercise Them

Email privacy@getglideai.com with the subject line “Consumer Health Data Request.”

Include the email address associated with your Glide account and describe what you are requesting. You may also write to us at the address in Section 11.

You may also delete your account and all associated health data directly in the app at Settings → Account → Delete Account.

Our Response

  • We respond within 30 days of receiving your request.
  • We may extend once by 15 additional days where reasonably necessary, and will notify you of the extension and the reason within the initial 30 days.
  • We will verify your identity, typically by confirming control of your account email.
  • Responses are free of charge, up to twice per year.

What Deletion Means

Upon a valid deletion request, we will:

  • Delete your consumer health data from our records, including from archived and backup systems, subject to the backup overwrite cycle in Section 7;
  • Notify every affiliate, processor, contractor, and third party with whom we have shared your consumer health data of the deletion request, and instruct them to delete it; and
  • Confirm completion to you.

Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

Authorized Agents

You may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. We may require written proof of authorization and independent verification of your identity.

Appeals

If we deny your request, we will explain why and how to appeal. To appeal, reply to our response or email privacy@getglideai.com with the subject line “Consumer Health Data Appeal.” We will respond within the period required by law.

If your appeal is denied, you may submit a complaint to:

Washington State Attorney General — Consumer Protection Division www.atg.wa.gov/file-complaint

Nevada Attorney General — Bureau of Consumer Protection ag.nv.gov

9. Biometric Data

Glide does not collect, capture, retain, or process biometric identifiers.

We do not perform facial recognition, face or body geometry analysis, pose detection, fingerprint, voiceprint, retina, or iris scanning. Progress photos you upload are stored as images only and are never analyzed to extract biometric identifiers. Glide includes a barcode scanner that reads product barcodes only; it does not detect or analyze faces or bodies.

If we ever introduce a feature that would collect biometric identifiers, we will provide advance notice and obtain your separate written consent before doing so, as required by the Washington My Health My Data Act, the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act, the Texas Capture or Use of Biometric Identifier Act, and comparable laws.

10. Security

Consumer health data is protected by the safeguards described in Section 18 of our Privacy Policy, including encryption in transit and at rest, row-level database security restricting access to your own records, private storage with time-limited signed access for images, and access controls limiting employee access to a need-to-know basis.

No system is perfectly secure. If a security incident affects your consumer health data, we will notify you and the applicable regulators as required by law, including under the FTC Health Breach Notification Rule.

We may update this policy. Material changes — particularly to the categories of health data we collect, the purposes, or the third parties we share with — will be announced through the app and by revising the date above. We will not collect, share, or use your consumer health data for a purpose not disclosed here without first obtaining your affirmative consent.
