Glide Privacy Policy

Effective Date: August 7, 2026    Last Updated: August 9, 2026    Version: 2.2

Glide Performance, LLC (“Glide,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the Glide fitness and social wellness application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, store, and protect personal information when you access or use our website, mobile applications, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).

Please read Section 8 (Artificial Intelligence Features) carefully. Glide uses third-party artificial intelligence services to generate certain features. Information you provide — including health, fitness, and nutrition information — may be transmitted to those third-party providers for processing.

By using the Services, you agree to this Privacy Policy. Where applicable law requires your consent for a specific processing activity, we will request that consent separately and you may withdraw it at any time as described in Section 17.

Summary of Key Points

This summary is provided for convenience only and does not replace the full Privacy Policy below.

  • What we collect: Account details, fitness and nutrition logs, body metrics, progress photos, workout history, social posts, club memberships, direct messages, photos you upload, device and usage data, and — with your permission — Apple Health data and precise location, including background location and full GPS routes while you track a run.
  • Health information: Much of what you log is health-related and is treated as sensitive information under laws including the Washington My Health My Data Act, the California Consumer Privacy Act, and the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act.
  • AI processing: Certain features send your inputs — which may include health and fitness data — to OpenAI for processing. See Section 8. You can choose not to use AI features.
  • Crash and diagnostic reporting: If the app crashes or encounters an error, diagnostic information is sent to Sentry to help us fix the problem. See Sections 5.3 and 11.1.
  • Social visibility: Glide contains public and semi-public features. Profiles, posts, club memberships, and leaderboard placements may be visible to other users. See Section 10.
  • We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for cross-context behavioral advertising. See Section 12.
  • You control your data. You can delete your account entirely from inside the app. See Section 17.

3. Eligibility and Age Requirements

The Services are intended solely for individuals 18 years of age or older. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use the Services.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected personal information from an individual under 18, we will promptly delete that information and terminate the associated account. If you believe a person under 18 has provided us with personal information, contact us immediately at privacy@getglideai.com.

Because the Services are restricted to adults, we do not knowingly:

  • collect personal information from children under 13 (Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act);
  • process the personal data of a known minor under 18 for targeted advertising, sale, or profiling; or
  • display targeted advertising to minors.

4. Information You Provide to Us

4.1 Account and Profile Information

  • Name and display name
  • Username
  • Email address
  • Password (stored only in hashed and salted form; we never have access to your plaintext password)
  • Date of birth (used for age verification and calorie/metabolic calculations)
  • Profile photo or avatar
  • Biography, bio text, and profile description
  • Sex assigned at birth and/or gender, where you choose to provide it
  • Training preferences, experience level, and stated goals
  • General location, such as city, state, region, or country
  • Social sign-in identifiers, where you sign in through Apple or Google

4.2 Fitness, Nutrition, and Wellness Information

When you use Glide’s tracking features, we collect information you choose to enter, including:

  • Height, weight, and weight history
  • Body measurements and estimated body fat percentage
  • Age, activity level, and metabolic estimates
  • Target calories, macronutrient goals, and hydration goals
  • Food and meal logs, including items, portions, timing, and nutritional breakdowns
  • Water and hydration logs
  • Workout logs, exercises performed, sets, repetitions, loads, durations, distances, and perceived effort
  • Exercise and training history over time
  • Progress photos and body images you upload
  • Notes, reflections, and journal entries
  • Sleep, recovery, energy, mood, and lifestyle entries you record
  • Health and wellness preferences, restrictions, allergies, injuries, or conditions you choose to disclose
  • Achievements, streaks, and milestone data

This information is health-related. Much of it constitutes “consumer health data,” “sensitive personal information,” or “sensitive data” under applicable law. See Section 7.

4.3 Photos, Images, and Media

Glide allows you to upload images in several contexts:

  • Profile photos and avatars
  • Progress and body photos
  • Photos attached to social posts
  • Photos attached to direct messages
  • Club banner images and club avatars

Photos are stored in cloud storage with access controls that vary by type:

  • Progress photos, body images, and direct message attachments are private. They are stored in private storage and are accessible only through short-lived, signed links issued to you or, for message attachments, to the participants in that conversation.
  • Profile photos, club images, and photos attached to public posts are publicly accessible. Because they are intended to be seen by others, anyone who has the direct image link can view them without signing in. Do not upload anything to a profile, club, or public post that you would not want publicly visible.

Photographs you take of food for automatic nutrition recognition are additionally transmitted to our AI provider for analysis, as described in Section 8.

Images may contain embedded metadata (EXIF), which can include the time, device, and — for photos taken with location services enabled — the geographic coordinates at which the photo was taken. Our image processing re-encodes most uploads, which removes this metadata as a side effect, but we cannot guarantee that all metadata is removed from every image. If this concerns you, disable location tagging in your device camera settings before uploading.

We do not use facial recognition, body-scan analysis, or any other technology to extract biometric identifiers from your photos. We do not create faceprints, voiceprints, retina or iris scans, fingerprints, hand or face geometry records, or any other biometric identifier as those terms are defined under the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act, the Texas Capture or Use of Biometric Identifier Act, or comparable laws. Progress photos are stored as images only.

4.4 Social, Community, and Communications Content

  • Posts, activity shares, captions, and comments you publish to the social feed
  • Likes, reactions, follows, and other engagement signals
  • Clubs you create, join, or request to join, and your role within them
  • Club names, descriptions, categories, privacy settings, banners, and associated city or location information
  • Club invitations and join requests you send or receive
  • Leaderboard participation and placement
  • Direct messages and message attachments you send and receive
  • Users you block, mute, or report, and the content of reports you submit

4.4a Apple Health Data

With your permission, Glide reads data from Apple Health. When you grant access, we read:

  • Step count
  • Active energy burned
  • Heart rate
  • Resting heart rate
  • Heart rate variability
  • Workouts recorded by other apps or devices
  • Sleep analysis

How this data is used and stored:

  • Glide reads Apple Health automatically when you open the app, without a separate action from you, once you have granted permission.
  • Your daily step count and sleep duration are copied to our servers and stored on your account as part of your daily activity record. These are retained indefinitely so you can view long-term trends.
  • Heart rate, resting heart rate, heart rate variability, and workout details are read for display within the app and are not stored on our servers.
  • Your steps, active energy, and sleep are included in the information sent to our AI provider when you use the Glide AI coach. See Section 8.
  • Glide never writes to Apple Health. We only read.
  • We do not use Apple Health data for advertising, and we do not sell it or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • Apple Health data is not stored in iCloud by Glide.

Your control. Apple Health access is optional. You may decline it or revoke it at any time in the Apple Health app under Sharing → Apps. If you decline, you can enter steps and sleep manually, and all other features remain available.

4.4b Motion and Fitness Data

With your permission, Glide uses your device’s motion sensors to count steps and measure cadence during a tracked activity.

4.5 Artificial Intelligence Inputs

When you use AI-powered features, we collect the prompts, questions, instructions, and contextual data used to generate responses. Because Glide is a fitness application, this context routinely includes health, fitness, body composition, and nutrition information. See Section 8 for full detail on how this data is handled.

4.5a Scores and Inferences We Generate

Glide calculates values about you that you did not directly provide, including:

  • Your Glide Score, a daily score from 0 to 100 reflecting your training, nutrition consistency, and logging behavior
  • Estimated basal metabolic rate, total daily energy expenditure, and calorie and macronutrient targets
  • Progress trends, streaks, and adherence rates

Your Glide Score is stored on your account indefinitely and is included in the information sent to our AI provider when generating a weekly review. These are behavioral and health-related inferences about you. We do not use them for advertising, and we do not sell them.

4.6 Payment and Subscription Information

Glide offers Free, Pro, and Elite subscription tiers. Purchases made through the Apple App Store are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat as our subscription management provider. We receive from Apple and RevenueCat:

  • Subscription status, tier, and entitlements
  • Purchase, renewal, cancellation, refund, and billing-issue events
  • Anonymized or pseudonymized purchase identifiers and receipts
  • Trial status and promotional offer redemption

Glide never receives or stores your full payment card number, bank account number, or card security code. Payment credentials are handled entirely by Apple or the applicable platform payment processor.

4.7 Communications with Us

Information you provide when you contact support, email us, respond to a survey, join a waitlist or beta program, enter a promotion, participate in research, submit a report, or message us through the Services or our social channels — including the content of those communications and any attachments.

5. Information We Collect Automatically

5.1 Device and Technical Information

  • IP address
  • Device type, model, and manufacturer
  • Operating system and version
  • Application version and build number
  • Unique device identifiers and app instance identifiers
  • Advertising identifier (IDFA), only if you grant permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt
  • Browser type, where you use our website
  • Language, locale, region, and time zone settings
  • Network connection type
  • Screen dimensions and accessibility settings relevant to rendering

5.2 Usage and Interaction Data

  • Screens, pages, and features viewed
  • Taps, clicks, scrolls, navigation paths, and feature interactions
  • Session start and end times, session duration, and frequency of use
  • Feature adoption, funnel completion, and onboarding progress
  • Search queries entered within the app
  • Dates and times of access and referring URLs
  • Errors encountered and actions taken

We collect this information using our analytics provider, PostHog. Depending on our configuration, PostHog may capture session recordings or replays that reconstruct your interactions with the app interface. Where session replay is enabled, we configure masking to suppress capture of password fields and other sensitive inputs. By using the Services you consent to this collection. You may object by contacting privacy@getglideai.com.

When analytics begin. Analytics collection, including any session recording, begins only after you have accepted our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. We do not collect analytics before you accept.

5.3 Diagnostics, Crash, and Performance Data

Crash reports, stack traces, error logs, performance timings, latency measurements, memory and resource usage, and diagnostic identifiers used to reproduce and fix defects.

We use Sentry as our crash reporting and error monitoring provider. When the app encounters a crash or unhandled error, Sentry automatically collects a stack trace, the device and operating system information, application version, and the sequence of app state immediately preceding the error, so that we can diagnose and fix the underlying defect. See Section 11.1 for further detail on this processor.

5.4 Approximate Location from IP Address

We derive approximate location — typically at the city, region, or country level — from your IP address for security, fraud prevention, content localization, and analytics purposes. This does not require your permission and cannot be disabled while using the Services. Separately, Glide collects precise and background location during activity tracking; see Section 6.

5.5 Push Notification Tokens

If you enable push notifications, we collect and store a device push token issued by Apple Push Notification service or the equivalent platform service. We use this token solely to deliver notifications to your device. See Section 14.

5.6 Cookies, SDKs, and Similar Technologies

We and our service providers use cookies, software development kits, local storage, session storage, log files, pixels, and similar technologies to operate the Services, authenticate you, remember your preferences, maintain your session, understand usage, and improve performance. See Section 13.

6. Location Information

Glide collects location information, including precise GPS coordinates and background location during activity tracking. This section describes exactly what we collect and why.

6.1 Run and Activity Tracking — Precise and Background Location

When you start a run or tracked outdoor activity, Glide records your precise GPS coordinates continuously for the duration of that activity, including while the app is in the background and your screen is locked. This is necessary because iOS suspends foreground-only location updates, which would interrupt tracking mid-run.

  • We record a full route trace — a sequence of coordinates, timestamps, speed, bearing, and accuracy — for each tracked activity.
  • Route data is stored on your account indefinitely, so you can view your run history, maps, distance, and pace over time.
  • Route traces are stored at full coordinate precision.
  • Background tracking runs only while an activity is actively being tracked. It starts when you begin an activity and stops when you end it. Glide does not track your location when you are not recording an activity.
  • While tracking, iOS displays a status indicator, and Glide may display a Live Activity on your lock screen showing your in-progress run statistics.

Your route data reveals sensitive information about you, including where you live, work, and exercise, and your routines. Consider this before sharing runs publicly. You can delete individual activities, which deletes the associated route.

6.2 City and Place Detection

Separately, Glide can detect your city to fill in your profile location or a club’s location. This uses your device’s location services to convert coordinates into a place name. Reverse geocoding is performed on your device and coordinates are not sent to a third party for this purpose.

When you create a club, the club’s coordinates are stored along with its city name.

6.3 Approximate Location from IP Address

We derive approximate location — typically city, region, or country — from your IP address for security, fraud prevention, and analytics. This does not require permission.

6.4 Location Services We Use

  • On-device reverse geocoding (Apple’s Core Location) — coordinates are resolved to a place name on your device.
  • OpenStreetMap / Nominatim — when you type a location during onboarding, your typed text is sent to this service to find matching places. Coordinates are not sent.
  • Map tile provider — when a map is displayed, tile requests are made to our map hosting provider. Tile requests indicate the approximate area being viewed.

6.5 What We Do Not Do With Location

  • We do not sell or share location data.
  • We do not use location for advertising.
  • We do not track your location when you are not recording an activity.
  • We do not use location to build advertising or marketing profiles.

6.6 Your Control

Location permission is optional. You may decline or revoke it at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Glide. If you decline:

  • Route tracking will not function; you can still log activities manually.
  • City detection will not function; you can type your city.
  • All other features remain available.

7. Sensitive Information and Consumer Health Data

Because Glide is a fitness and wellness application, much of the information you provide relates to your physical condition, body, nutrition, exercise, and wellness. This includes body measurements, weight, body fat estimates, calorie and macronutrient intake, hydration, workout and exertion data, sleep and recovery entries, progress photos, and any injuries, allergies, restrictions, or conditions you disclose.

Under various laws, this information may qualify as:

  • “Consumer health data” under the Washington My Health My Data Act, the Nevada Consumer Health Data Privacy Law, and comparable statutes;
  • “Sensitive personal information” under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended;
  • “Sensitive data” under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act, the Colorado Privacy Act, the Connecticut Data Privacy Act, and similar state laws.

How we handle it.

  • We collect this information because you affirmatively enter it to use the tracking, goal-setting, insight, and AI features you have requested.
  • We use it only for the purposes described in Section 9.
  • We do not sell consumer health data. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use it for targeted advertising or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
  • We do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you beyond what is necessary to deliver the Services you requested.
  • Where applicable law requires separate consent or authorization before we collect, use, or disclose consumer health data, we will obtain it, and you may withdraw it at any time.
  • We restrict internal access to health-related data to personnel who need it to operate, support, or secure the Services.

Important: If you use AI features, health-related information you have entered may be transmitted to our AI processor. See Section 8. If you do not want health information processed by a third-party AI provider, do not use the AI features.

8. Artificial Intelligence Features — Notice, Acknowledgment, and Consent

This section explains that your personal information, including health and fitness information, is processed by a third-party artificial intelligence provider. Please read it before using AI features.

8.1 What AI Features Do

Glide offers features powered by artificial intelligence, which may include workout generation and programming, meal and nutrition suggestions, macronutrient and calorie guidance, progress analysis and summaries, form and training feedback, conversational assistance, and general wellness recommendations.

8.2 Who Processes Your Data

AI features are powered by OpenAI, L.L.C. When you use an AI feature, the relevant inputs are transmitted over an encrypted connection to OpenAI’s application programming interface for processing, and the generated output is returned to Glide and displayed to you.

OpenAI acts as our service provider and processor and is contractually restricted to processing the data solely to provide the service to Glide. OpenAI’s applicable terms are available at openai.com. We may change or add AI providers in the future; if we do, we will update this Privacy Policy.

8.3 What Information Is Sent

Depending on the feature you use, the information transmitted may include:

  • The prompt, question, or instruction you enter
  • Your fitness profile: age, sex, current weight, target weight, activity level, lifting and cardio experience level
  • Your primary goal, nutrition goal, diet type, and dietary preferences or restrictions
  • Your daily calorie, protein, carbohydrate, and fat targets
  • Recent workout and activity titles, days trained, and total training minutes
  • Recent nutrition summary: average daily calories and protein, and days logged
  • Your current logging streak
  • Your two most recent recorded weights and when they were recorded
  • Apple Health data: your step count, active energy burned, and sleep duration for the current day (where you have connected Apple Health)
  • Your Glide Score and weekly performance summary, when generating a weekly review
  • Your subscription tier, follower count, and the names of clubs you belong to
  • Food descriptions you type, and photographs of food you submit for nutrition analysis
  • Prior messages in the same AI conversation, to maintain context

We do not intentionally transmit your name, email address, password, payment information, precise location, direct messages with other users, or progress photos to our AI provider. We design our prompts to send only the data needed for the requested output. However, any information you type directly into an AI feature will be transmitted, so you should not enter information you do not wish to have processed by a third party.

8.4 Health Information and AI — Explicit Acknowledgment

By using Glide’s AI features, you acknowledge and agree that:

  1. Health-related and fitness-related information about you, including body metrics, nutrition data, and any conditions or injuries you disclose, will be transmitted to and processed by OpenAI, a third-party company located in the United States.
  2. This processing is necessary to generate the personalized output you requested; it is not possible to receive personalized AI recommendations without transmitting this data.
  3. This transmission occurs each time you use an AI feature.
  4. You are choosing to have this information processed, and you may decline by not using AI features. All non-AI features of Glide — logging, tracking, social, clubs, messaging, and progress — remain fully available if you never use an AI feature.
  5. You may request that we delete your stored AI conversation history at any time. See Section 17.

How we obtain and record this consent. Because this is sensitive health information being processed by a third party, we ask you to acknowledge AI processing explicitly when you accept our Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy, and we record that acknowledgment as a separate, dated consent record distinct from your acceptance of those documents. This lets both you and us know precisely what you agreed to and when.

Withdrawing consent. You may withdraw AI consent at any time by turning off AI features in Settings. Withdrawal deletes your AI consent record, disables AI features, and stops any further transmission of your information to our AI provider. It does not by itself delete AI data we already hold — use Delete AI history in Settings, or submit a deletion request under Section 17.

8.5 Model Training

We do not permit our AI providers to use your personal information, prompts, inputs, or outputs to train, retrain, fine-tune, or improve their general-purpose models. Our API integration is configured to exclude your data from provider model training.

We may use aggregated or de-identified information — data that cannot reasonably be linked back to you or your device — to evaluate, tune, and improve Glide’s own features, prompts, and performance. We commit not to attempt to re-identify de-identified data and to require our service providers to do the same.

8.6 Retention of AI Data

  • Inputs and outputs are transiently processed by the AI provider to generate a response.
  • Our AI provider may retain API request data for a limited period for abuse monitoring and legal compliance, consistent with its standard practices and our contract with it, after which it is deleted.
  • Glide may store your AI conversations, generated plans, and saved outputs as part of your account history so that features work as expected across sessions.
  • We may retain limited logs of AI requests for debugging, safety, abuse prevention, and quality assurance.
  • AI data associated with your account is deleted when you delete your account, subject to Section 16.

8.7 No Human Review of Individual Outputs

AI outputs are generated automatically and are not reviewed by a Glide employee or any other human before being shown to you. Automated processing means the system produces results without individualized human judgment.

Glide does not use AI to make decisions that produce legal effects concerning you or similarly significant effects — such as decisions about credit, employment, housing, insurance, education, or access to essential services. AI is used only to generate fitness and wellness suggestions and informational content.

8.8 Limitations of AI Output

AI-generated content:

  • may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or entirely fabricated;
  • may reflect biases present in underlying training data or models;
  • may not account for your full medical history, medications, injuries, allergies, pregnancy, disabilities, or personal circumstances;
  • may produce nutritional or training recommendations that are unsuitable or unsafe for you specifically;
  • is not medical, nutritional, clinical, psychological, or professional advice; and
  • must not be relied upon as a substitute for consultation with a qualified healthcare professional.

You are responsible for how you use AI-generated content. Consult a physician or licensed professional before beginning any new exercise or nutrition program or acting on any AI-generated recommendation.

8.9 Your Choices Regarding AI

  • Do not use AI features. They are optional; all core Glide functionality works without them.
  • Limit what you enter. Do not type information into AI features that you do not want transmitted to a third party.
  • Request deletion of your AI conversation history by contacting privacy@getglideai.com or using in-app controls where available.
  • Withdraw consent to AI processing at any time by ceasing use of AI features and requesting deletion of associated data.
  • Exercise your rights under Section 17, including access, correction, and deletion, with respect to AI inputs and outputs we store.

We will not use your personal information for a materially different purpose than those disclosed here without providing notice and, where required, obtaining your consent.

10. Information Visible to Other Users

Glide is a social application. Some information is visible to other people. Please read this section carefully.

10.1 Publicly or Broadly Visible

Depending on your settings and the features you use, the following may be visible to other Glide users, and in some cases to anyone who can view a shared link:

  • Your username, display name, profile photo, and bio
  • Your general location, if you provide one
  • Posts, activity shares, captions, photos, and comments you publish to the social feed
  • Your workouts, activities, and achievements that you choose to share
  • Clubs you belong to, and your role in them
  • Your placement, name, and score on leaderboards
  • Follower and following relationships
  • Your activity within public clubs

10.2 Visible to Limited Audiences

  • Content posted within a private club is visible to members of that club
  • Direct messages and their attachments are visible to the participants in the conversation
  • Club join requests and invitations are visible to relevant club administrators

10.3 Things You Should Understand

  • Once you share something, you may not be able to fully un-share it. Other users may screenshot, copy, save, or redistribute content. Deleting a post removes it from Glide but does not retrieve copies others have made.
  • Leaderboards are inherently comparative and public within their scope. Participating means your name and performance are visible to others in that leaderboard.
  • Direct messages are not end-to-end encrypted. They are encrypted in transit and at rest, and access is restricted to the conversation participants, but Glide can technically access message content and will do so where necessary to investigate reports, comply with law, enforce our Terms, or protect user safety.
  • Progress photos and body photos are private by default. They become visible to others only if you deliberately attach them to a post or message. We strongly encourage you to consider carefully before sharing body images.
  • Health data is sensitive. Sharing workouts, calories, weights, or body composition in social contexts reveals health information about you. Use privacy settings deliberately.

10.4 Your Controls

You can manage your visibility by adjusting profile and sharing settings in the app, choosing not to share individual activities, setting clubs to private, declining to join leaderboards, blocking users, and deleting content you have posted.

  • respond to lawful requests from public authorities, including for national security or law enforcement purposes;
  • protect the rights, property, or safety of Glide, our users, or the public, including in emergencies involving risk of death or serious physical injury;
  • detect, prevent, investigate, or address fraud, abuse, harassment, security incidents, or illegal activity; or
  • establish, exercise, enforce, or defend our legal rights and agreements.

Where legally permitted and operationally feasible, we will attempt to notify you of a legal demand for your information before disclosing it.

11.6 Corporate Transactions

We may disclose or transfer information in connection with an actual or proposed merger, acquisition, financing, due diligence, reorganization, bankruptcy, receivership, sale of assets, or transition of service. We will require any successor to honor commitments in this Privacy Policy or provide notice and choice as required by law.

11.7 With Your Direction or Consent

We disclose information when you direct us to or otherwise consent.

12. We Do Not Sell or Share Your Personal Information

Glide does not sell your personal information, and has not sold personal information in the preceding twelve months, as “sell” is defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act, the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, the Washington My Health My Data Act, or comparable laws.

Glide does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising, and has not done so in the preceding twelve months.

Glide does not sell or offer to sell consumer health data. We will not do so without first obtaining your separate, valid written authorization as required by the Washington My Health My Data Act and any comparable law.

We do not process personal information for profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects concerning you.

If these practices ever change, we will update this Privacy Policy, provide advance notice, and implement the opt-out and authorization mechanisms required by law before making any such change effective.

13. Cookies, Tracking Technologies, and Your Signals

We and our service providers use cookies, SDKs, local storage, and similar technologies to keep the Services functioning, authenticate you and maintain sessions, remember settings and preferences, understand traffic and usage patterns, improve performance and features, and measure the effect of product changes.

You can control browser cookies through your browser settings. Some features may not function if certain technologies are disabled.

App Tracking Transparency. On iOS, we will not access your device’s advertising identifier or track you across apps and websites owned by other companies unless you grant permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt. You can change this at any time in your device settings.

Global Privacy Control. Where required by applicable law, we treat valid browser-based privacy preference signals, including Global Privacy Control, as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for the browser or device transmitting the signal. Because we do not sell or share personal information, this signal does not change our practices, but we honor it as a matter of course.

Do Not Track. Web browsers may offer a “Do Not Track” setting. There is no common industry standard for responding to it, and we do not currently respond to DNT signals separately from the GPC handling described above.

14. Push Notifications

If you enable push notifications, we send messages to your device about account activity, social interactions such as follows, likes, comments, and mentions, club invitations and join requests, direct messages, reminders and goal prompts you have configured, and service or security announcements.

We store a device push token to deliver these. You can disable push notifications at any time in your device settings or, where available, in the app’s notification settings. Disabling them does not affect other Services functionality but you may miss time-sensitive information.

15. Marketing Communications

We may send promotional emails and similar marketing communications where permitted by law. You may opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link in the message or, where available, in your in-app settings. We will honor opt-out requests within the timeframe required by law.

Even after you opt out of marketing, we will continue to send non-promotional messages such as account notices, security alerts, billing and subscription notices, changes to legal terms, and responses to your support requests. These are necessary to operate the Services and cannot be separately declined while you maintain an account.

17. Your Privacy Rights and Choices

17.1 Rights That May Apply to You

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Know / Access — confirm whether we process your personal information and obtain a copy, including categories, sources, purposes, and recipients
  • Correct — request correction of inaccurate personal information
  • Delete — request deletion of your personal information
  • Portability — obtain a copy in a portable, machine-readable format
  • Opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising, or certain profiling
  • Limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal information
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
  • Appeal a denial of a privacy request
  • Non-discrimination — we will not deny service, charge different prices, or provide a different quality of service because you exercised a privacy right

17.2 Deleting Your Account

You can delete your Glide account and associated data directly in the app. Navigate to Settings → Account → Delete Account. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

Deleting your account does not automatically cancel a subscription purchased through the App Store. You must cancel through your Apple subscription settings to stop future charges.

Certain information may be retained after deletion where required or permitted by law, including transaction records, security and abuse records, records subject to a legal hold, aggregated or de-identified data, and content you sent to other users that resides in their accounts, such as direct messages.

17.3 How to Submit a Request

Email privacy@getglideai.com, or write to us at the address in Section 22. Please include the email address associated with your account and describe your request.

We will acknowledge and respond within the timeframes required by applicable law — generally 45 days, extendable by an additional 45 days where reasonably necessary, and 30 days under the Washington My Health My Data Act with one 15-day extension.

Verification. We will take reasonable steps to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests, typically by confirming control of the account email and matching information already in our records. For sensitive requests we may require additional verification. We will not require you to create an account solely to submit a request.

Authorized agents. You may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. We may require written proof of authorization and verification of your identity.

Appeals. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our response or emailing privacy@getglideai.com with the subject line “Privacy Request Appeal.” We will respond within the period required by applicable law and, if we deny the appeal, provide information about how to contact the relevant attorney general or regulator.

18. Data Security and Breach Notification

We maintain administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including:

  • Encryption of data in transit using TLS
  • Encryption of data at rest, provided by our cloud infrastructure provider. Note that direct messages are not end-to-end encrypted: they are encrypted in storage and in transit, but Glide can technically access their contents as described in Section 10.3
  • Row-level security policies restricting database access to authorized records
  • Private storage buckets with time-limited signed access for sensitive media
  • Password hashing and salting; we never store plaintext passwords
  • Authentication through established identity providers with support for Sign in with Apple and Google
  • Access controls limiting employee and contractor access on a need-to-know basis
  • Logging and monitoring for anomalous access
  • Contractual security obligations imposed on service providers

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot and do not guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for using a strong, unique password.

Breach notification. In the event of a security incident affecting your personal information, we will notify you and applicable regulators as required by law, in the manner and within the timeframes required.

We do not use it for advertising, and we do not disclose it for cross-context behavioral advertising. If you wish to limit our use of sensitive personal information, contact privacy@getglideai.com and we will respond; note that limiting it may prevent core features from functioning.

Notice of financial incentive: we do not offer financial incentives in exchange for personal information.

Our supplemental California Privacy Notice, if any, should be read together with this Privacy Policy.

19.2 Washington — My Health My Data Act

If you are a Washington resident, or if your consumer health data is collected in Washington, the My Health My Data Act provides additional rights. We maintain a separate Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy that describes the categories of consumer health data we collect, the purposes, the categories of sources, the categories of third parties and affiliates with which it is shared, and how to exercise your rights.

Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy: getglide.org/health-privacy

In summary:

  • We collect consumer health data as described in Sections 4.2, 4.3, and 7.
  • We collect it to provide the tracking, insight, goal, social, and AI features you request.
  • Sources are you and your device.
  • We share it only with the service providers listed in Section 11.1 — principally Supabase for storage and OpenAI for AI processing — and with other users only where you choose to share.
  • We do not sell consumer health data and will not do so without your separate, valid written authorization.
  • You may confirm whether we collect, share, or sell your consumer health data, obtain a list of all third parties and affiliates with which we have shared it and contact information for each, withdraw consent to collection and sharing, and request deletion.
  • To exercise these rights, email privacy@getglideai.com. We will respond within 30 days, with one possible 15-day extension for which we will notify you.
  • Upon a valid deletion request, we will delete your consumer health data from our records, including archived and backup systems consistent with Section 16, and will notify all affiliates, processors, and third parties with which we have shared it to delete it as well.
  • If we deny your request you may appeal as described in Section 17.3, and may submit a complaint to the Washington Attorney General.

19.3 Nevada

Nevada residents may direct us not to make certain sales of covered information and of consumer health data. We do not sell covered information or consumer health data. You may submit a verified request to privacy@getglideai.com.

19.4 Texas

Under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, Texas residents have the rights described in Section 17.1. We do not sell personal data, sensitive data, or biometric data. We do not process personal data for targeted advertising or for profiling in furtherance of decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects. We process sensitive data — including health-related data — only with your consent, obtained through your affirmative use of the relevant features and, where required, through separate consent prompts. To exercise your rights, contact privacy@getglideai.com. If we deny your request, you may appeal as described in Section 17.3 and may file a complaint with the Texas Attorney General.

19.5 Other States

Residents of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Oregon, Montana, Delaware, Iowa, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Tennessee, Minnesota, Maryland, Indiana, Kentucky, Rhode Island, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have rights that may include access, correction, deletion, portability, opt-out of sale and targeted advertising, and appeal. We extend the rights described in Section 17.1 to residents of all U.S. states regardless of whether a law in their state currently requires it. Contact privacy@getglideai.com.

Where required, we obtain consent before processing sensitive data, including health-related data. Your affirmative choice to enter health information and to use AI features constitutes that consent, and you may withdraw it by discontinuing use and requesting deletion.

19.6 Biometric Privacy — Illinois, Texas, and Elsewhere

Glide does not collect, capture, purchase, receive through trade, retain, store, or otherwise obtain biometric identifiers or biometric information. We do not perform facial recognition, face or body geometry scanning, fingerprint, voiceprint, retina, or iris analysis. Photos you upload are stored as images and are not processed to derive biometric identifiers. If we ever introduce a feature that would collect biometric identifiers, we will provide the written notice and obtain the written consent required by the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act, the Texas Capture or Use of Biometric Identifier Act, and comparable laws before doing so.

20. Third-Party Services and Links

The Services may link to or integrate with third-party websites, apps, devices, and services. Those third parties operate under their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their practices, content, or security. Review their policies before providing information to them.

21. International Users and Data Transfers

Glide is operated from and intended primarily for users in the United States. Our servers and service providers are located in the United States and other jurisdictions.

If you access the Services from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction. By using the Services you consent to that transfer.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland: we do not currently target or market the Services to you, and the Services are not designed for compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation. If you nonetheless use the Services and believe the GDPR applies to your use, contact privacy@getglideai.com and we will work with you in good faith to honor applicable rights, including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Where we process such data, our legal bases would be performance of a contract, your consent (including explicit consent for health data under Article 9(2)(a)), our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Services, and compliance with legal obligations.

22. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date above. If we make material changes — particularly changes to the categories of information we collect, the purposes for which we use it, the parties with whom we share it, or our AI processing practices — we will provide prominent advance notice through the Services, by email, or by other means required by law, and where required we will obtain your consent before the change takes effect.

We will maintain prior versions of this Privacy Policy available on request.
